How to Get a Crew in Roblox Arcane Odyssey

Arcane Odyssey is a swashbuckling, high-seas adventure on Roblox. Explore a massive ocean full of mystery, danger, and plenty of shiny loot. Of course, you’re going to need a big ship and an even bigger crew if you want to get anywhere in a decent time.

Any good captain worth their salt has a respectable crew backing them, so today, we’ll show you how to get a crew in Roblox Arcane Odyssey!

Hiring crewmates in Robox Arcane Odyssey

Across the vast ocean of Arcane Odyssey, you’ll encounter NPCs that can be recruited into your crew. The first example of this is Ulf, the Redwake Warrior who you find in, unsurprisingly, Redwake.

Talk to him, and he’ll ask if you want a crew for your ship. He’ll agree to join your crew if you pay him 200 galleons, which isn’t too bad.

Once you have some crewmates, you’ll need to equip them to your ship. Bear in mind that only the larger ships can hold crewmates, so don’t expect to equip any crewmates to your starting rowboat.

Tap or click on the shipyard button to open the shipyard screen. On this screen, you can outfit your current ship with different parts, and of course crewmates. Equipping crewmates is the same as equipping parts—simply select the crewmate in question, then equip them to your ship.

Your ship will function better with more crewmates, so you should definitely be on the lookout for more potential crewmates. Certain NPCs that can be hired into your crew will have a white group icon over them, like Ulf does in this article’s featured image.

Additionally, there are some NPCs that can be hired but don’t have that icon. Sometimes they’ll have a title, like “The Menace,” or the “The Vengeful”. Talk to them, and they’ll tell you they’re looking for a captain.

These crewmates are much better than the standard crewmates, but they often come with steep requirements before you’re allowed to hire them. Usually, you’ll need a ship with high-end parts, or a lot of fame.

These NPC crewmates are randomly generated, so if you don’t like what you see at first, come back later, and there will be a new NPC. They always spawn in fixed locations; for example, you can always find one at the bar in The Red Fin.
