The long-awaited Clan Capital update for Clash of Clans is finally here, but unfortunately a majority of players are having trouble downloading the new update. This new error seems to be specifically affecting Android users, where their games are getting stuck in update loops. If you can’t update your Clash of Clans, we’re here to help you fix the Clan Capital update loop error!
How to Fix Clash of Clans Clan Capital Update Error
If you’re an Android user and tried to update Clash of Clans to the latest update today, you may have been hit with an error where your game tries to update, stops, then repeats the process in an infinite loop. Supercell, the developer of Clash of Clans, is aware of the issue, and they’re working on a fix. In the meantime, the official Clash of Clans Twitter account Tweeted a potential temporary fix:
Thanks to an observant fan’s testings, there is a possible workaround for the update loop.
- Go to Clash of Clans‘ page on the Google Play Store.
- Scroll down until you see the “Events & Offers” section, then tap on any event box.
- Tap the Update button once it appears.
This should make the game update normally, and once it’s done updating you’re good to go. If this doesn’t work, we recommend trying a full reinstall—just make sure that your account data is backed up before you do so.

We should also mention that this whole update seems to be a little unstable in general, as Supercell also just announced that they disabled the new Capital Attack tutorial due to bugs and errors. It may be a good idea to wait a bit for them to iron out the bugs.
