The game has been slowly gaining traction since its release and although it is pretty user-friendly, some aspects of it are not very newbie-friendly. One such example is the Crimson Valley level.

Crimson Valley

Crimson Valley is the seventh stage in Kingdom Rush: Frontiers. The Knights Templar are unlocked in this stage. It is known by many players to be quite a challenging level because of the sudden difficulty spike that arises from high armored foes and the introduction of flying enemies.

There are a couple of simple strategies that work effectively on this level.

Viable Strategies

Strategy 1: Like most levels, plugging up the exit with Militia units to tank the enemies while archers freely rain arrows down upon them works well here. In terms of archers, the preferred units here would be the Crossbowmen with the Rapid Fire power-up, because they should be able to easily handle both land and air units. Additionally, the Archmage with Teleport can alleviate the burden off the tanks and help with anti-air support, since magic generally ignores armor. If a more hands-on approach is preferred, brute force with the Earthquake Tower in the volcanic ground works wonders.

Strategy 2: After seeing the power of one Earthquake Tower, why not build another? Bottleneck enemies between a couple of Earthquake Towers to slow and hit everything to take care of most ground units. Building a Crossbow Tower to increase the range of damage towers, followed by a couple of Necro Towers for magic damage and skeletons, Assassins to dodge tank and steal gold, a couple of Tribal Throwers for the damage buff totem would be the most efficient strategy.
