Impulse Grenades: Where to Find and How to Use

Impulse Grenades are a Rare-type throwable utility item and can be found as floor loot, in Chests, and in Supply Drops. They drop in stacks of 3 and can be carried in stacks of 9.

They have been vaulted and unvaulted through the seasons, with the most reason being Chapter 3 Season 3 unvaulting for a Flying Objects Weekend giving players some bonus XP for completing simple quests.

Using Impulse Grenades is much like using Shockwave Grenades. The player aims the grenade in an arc and throws it where they need it. This creates an impulse in a specific area, throwing any players, wildlife, and vehicles out. They can also be thrown to bring those things closer, if aimed correctly!

The main difference between the Impulse Grenade and a Shockwave Grenade is the fact Shockwaves protect players from fall damage. Impulse Grenades do not. This makes them trickier to use as mobility items as players must be careful how high they propel themselves, and to stay away from cliffs.

The fact Impulse Grenades do not protect against fall damage means they can be lethal, despite not causing any direct damage. Using one to propel an opponent from a cliff, or into the storm, can cause some real damage!
