The Demonologist is a multiplayer co-op game for up to 4 players whose job is to hunt evil spirits, explore cursed places, and exorcize the demons. Players can work alone, if they dare, or with the help of teammates they can work out together what type of evil lurks there.

Finding and Exorcising Spirits in The Demonologist
The Primary objective in The Demonologist is to find out which area is haunted, and figure out what kind of evil resides in that room. Players can work together to collect enough evidence to determine spirit type. There are also challenges and other objectives to complete once the primary objective is completed. Once those are done your team can exorcize the spirit!
As players explore the location they can find different types of evidence using tarot cards, a ouija board, or their devices:
- Thermometer for checking for freezing temperatures
- Spirit Box for communication with the entities
- Electro Static Generator Device to increase paranormal activity and/or shows the entity
- Ecto Glass used to find evidence of the spirit by showing up white marks through the glass
- Easel Canvas can be used to let the entity write or draw to let you know they are there
- EMF Device used to find out levels of spiritual activity in each room from 0 to 5

Using the devices above can help players find evidence of spirits in the room such as:
- High EMF Level (5)
- Fingerprints
- Easel Canvas Drawing
- Freezing Temperatures
- ESG Ghost Reaction

Players can tick off evidence on a checklist as they appear. Each piece of evidence ticked off on the list eliminates some of the spirits that could be. Each spirit has a few signs it gives to let players know what type of entity it is. By checking off every piece of evidence you collect, you slowly narrow down what type it is until one the team can make a guess. There are currently 24 spirit types in The Demonologist:

Once the spirit has been guessed and all optional objectives have been completed then players can exorcise the spirit. The exorcism itself depends on which map you are hunting in, but they are pretty simple and show up as a final objective.
