Rune Factory 5 involves farming on the backs of dragons, crafting strong tools, and dating mysterious people. As if dating isn’t hard enough, players must do all of this while fighting or taming monsters! There are 12 potential partners to choose from including 6 men and 6 women, and players can date more than one at once. One of these dates is named Ryker, a quick-witted but sleepy carpenter who becomes more effortlessly mysterious at night. Ryker’s event starts when the player enters the Grand Tree Plaza and finds Ryker lazing on the ground.
Ryker’s Chronic Slacker Event
To begin the Chronic slacker event you must have already reached Runic Disruption in the main story. Head to the Grand Tree Plaza in the morning where you will find Ryker sleeping on the ground. There are other characters around too- Simone, and two children Julian and Hina. Simone tells Ryker off for being lazy and sleeping rather than working. This makes Ryker run off to avoid any more lectures, and the children follow.
Once that scene ends the next part of the event starts in the evening of the next day (around 7pm) when you can find Ryker napping again. This will take place on the beach on the east side of Rigbarth. Here he gives a hint that he would quite like to get to know you better, if you weren’t such a workaholic.
The next time you meet him for this event will be outside an empty house near the same beach around 8am the next day. After some discussion between Ryker, Simone, and Yuki, you find out Ryker has begun working harder to impress you and be more like you.
After meeting Ryker at Studio Plamo around 8am the next day, and finishing the cutscene, this Ryker event is finished. The romance story can then begin when you visit the Bridge of Hope. TIP: If you are having trouble beginning this or any other event, make sure you have completed any previously started events as they can get in the way of other events.
