Vampire Survivors has a variety of playable characters, each with their own starting weapons and unique abilities. Most of them are unlocked as you progress through the game, but a few are hidden behind secret objectives.
Avatar Infernas is one such character, as unlocking him involves playing a secret tune on a piano. Today, we’ll show you how to complete Avatar Infernas piano puzzle in Vampire Survivors.
Avatar Infernas piano puzzle solution in Vampire Survivors
Avatar Infernas’ Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane entry reads: “It is intangible only in the inverted Inlaid Library. Good friends might then show the way.” The most obvious clue here is that you need to look in the inverted Inlaid Library, but everything else is a bit vague.
You’ll need to challenge and defeat the final boss of Vampire Survivors, The Directer, before you can attempt to unlock Avatar Infernas. This is done by talking to him three times at the Eudaimonia Machine, which is unlocked after obtaining all relics in the game.

Once you’ve done that, start your game in the Inlaid Library with Inverse Mode enabled. Optionally, level up until you get both Peachone and Ebony Wings, the bird weapons. You don’t have to do this, but it’ll make the puzzle easier.
Now, you’ll need to move to the right for a while. You’ll pass by lots of pianos, but eventually you’ll pass by one that has a purple Death enemy in front it. Kill the enemy, then interact with the piano.
You’ll get a close up of the piano, with seven white keys and five black keys highlighted. You must press keys in the correct order, which is, starting from the left:
- 2nd white
- 6th white
- 5th black
- 5th white
- 1st black
If you have both Peachone and Ebony Wings, they’ll show you the correct keys by flying to them, making this puzzle very simple.
Input the key combination correctly and suddenly the stage gets very dark. New enemies appear, but more importantly you’ll notice that there are nine new arrows on your screen that point you towards coffins.
Avatar Infernas is resting inside one of these coffins. The exact coffin is completely random, so just keep opening them until you get the right one. Avatar Infernas appears once you find the right one, so defeat him to unlock him as a playable character.
By the way, if you don’t want to deal with any of this, you can also unlock Avatar Infernas by casting a spell in the secret menu. Use the spell “kalvasflam” to unlock Avatar Infernas.
