Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is finally here and there are a lot of things to do in the latest installment of the Pokémon game franchise. Like in every other Pokémon game, there are certain features in Scarlet and Violet that aren’t exactly straightforward for some players to understand, one of which is the Pokémon Habitat.

It can be very tough to try and capture just about all the Pokémons. And since some Pokémon require new evolution methods, others cannot be found in both games. Oftentimes even when searching for common Pokémon in Paldea, it can be hard to even know where exactly to look. So in this article, we’ll be guiding you on how to check Pokémon Habitat in Scarlet and Violet: Guide.

Fortunately for players, there’s a new feature that makes it very easy to find pretty much any creature in this generation via the Habitat by viewing their Pokédex. This can be done by pressing the flat-lined (–) button.

Alternatively, players can access the Pokédex via the map with the Y button and then press the X button and select the Pokédex from there. With the Pokémon Habitat, players can check any Pokémon that was recently caught or battled. They can also get a full view of everything by simply selecting the main Pokédex book at the top.

Once there, tap the + button on a Pokémon or their entry to view their various habitat. This will work even if a player hasn’t seen the Pokémon yet, so long as the entry is there, the habitat can be accessed.

In the case of a Pokémon habitat being unknown, players might have to obtain it from story events, breeding, trading, or evolution. Other than that, the Pokédex will tell them what they need to know about catching a certain Pokémon including the time of day, the rarity, or whether they’re able to disguise themselves as other Pokémons.

So in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the more a player explores Paldea and captures Pokémons, the more entries they’ll unlock and be able to check. These entries can also be used as a guide toward completing the Pokédex.
