Monster Hunter Rise is an extremely involving experience that manages to make you feel part of the world the game is set in. At the very beginning of the game, you are given the chance to create your own custom character which will act as your avatar as you journey into the world in search of the most powerful, and the most fearsome, beasts to take down. The final touch when creating your own character is giving it a name, which will be the name which all other players will know you by.
Once you have decided on your name, can you change it? Let us find out.
How To Change Your Name In Monster Hunter Rise
Unfortunately, as of now, it is not possible to change your character’s name once it is set. The choice made during character creation will be final, so you will be stuck with the name you have picked unless you create a new character and start over from scratch. All names can include up to 16 characters, and numbers, special characters, and other alphabets are fully supported, so make the few characters at your disposal count!
As Monster Hunter Rise does offer the chance of changing a character’s appearance with Character Edit Vouchers, there’s the chance that a character name edit feature may be introduced down the line by game updates.
In Monster Hunter Rise, you can also name your Palico and Palamute buddies and, unlike with your character, you can actually rename them! After recruiting them, you can give them any name of your choosing, but you can also change this name by talking with Buddy Handler Iori, who can be found in the Buddy Plaza. As he is the character that handles all of the game’s buddy mechanics, you should become familiar with the services offered by the character as quickly as possible!
