How to Change Your Display Name on Roblox

Back in February 2021, on the “Roblox Developer Forum“, a new feature was announced. That feature was “Display Name“, and it gives users the ability to have a different handle appear on their profile, other than their username. Since then, many players have wondered if you can change your display name in Roblox.

Unlike “Username“, display name can be changed for free, once every seven days, plus, it doesn’t have to be unique. What does that mean? It simply means, that you can have the same display name as someone else. There are exceptions to that though, such as the usernames of Roblox moderators and famous YouTubers.

What is Roblox Display Name?

Display names replace player’s username above their character’s head in games, in the chat on games that have display names enabled and of course on the leaderboard. You can also do a “display name” search to find a profile.

How to change your Roblox display name?

Mobile App:

• Open Roblox , log in to your account, and tap on the three dots button.
• That will take you to the “More” menu. Scroll down until you find a clog like icon named “Settings” and tap on it.
• On the next screen, tap “Account Info“. Now you should be on your “My Settings” page.
• Next to your display name, tap on the edit button (it looks like a pencil and paper) to change your display name.
• Keep in mind that you can only change your display name once every seven days!

Browser:

• Go to Roblox official site and log into your account.
• Find the gear icon, which is located on the top right of the screen.
• Select “Account Info”
• Next to your display name, click on the edit button (it looks like a pencil and paper) to change your display name.

My Roblox display name doesn’t show up, what to do?

If your Roblox display name doesn’t show up on your “Account info” page, don’t worry, we have the solution for you.

• Open Google Play Store and download a VPN app. In this example we are using “Windscribe VPN“, but feel free to use any VPN app of your choice.

• Open your VPN app and select a location.
• In our example, we are going to use, Germany “Frakfurt Castle“. Why Germany? That is because, initially, the Display Name feature was available for Germany only.
• Wait for VPN to connect to the new location and switch back to Roblox app.

Once you are in Roblox app, refresh the page by swiping down. If you did everything right, you’ll see your “Display Name” right above your “Username“.
