Drampa, the mysterious and placid Dragon-type Pokémon, has finally made its debut in Pokémon Go. Drampa is releasing alongside its shiny form, so here’s how to catch a shiny Drampa in Pokémon Go.
Where to Catch Shiny Drampa in Pokémon Go
Drampa is finally here in Pokémon Go, and if you want to get your hands on one, you’ll have to wait just a little longer. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait that long, as the Lunar New Year event is just around the corner.
Yes, the debut of Drampa is going to tie in with the annual Lunar New Year event. The 2024 Lunar New Year event begins February 5 and runs until February 11, 2024, and during this time, Drampa will start appearing in the wild, Raids, and Special Encounters.
Additionally, we have some good news for shiny hunters! Usually, when a new Pokémon is released, the shiny form of it isn’t available right away, but thankfully Drampa’s shiny form is releasing during the event as well. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a shiny Drampa during the event!
To clarify, Drampa is available to catch even after the Lunar New Year event is over, but since Drampa will be appearing more frequently during the event, you should make it a point to get out and explore as much as possible.
If you’re not having much luck with wild Drampas, keep in mind that Drampa will also be appearing as a Three-Star Raid. If you’ve got some strong Pokémon ready to battle, we recommend participating in as many Raids as you can. Not only are the Raid Pokémon generally stronger than wild Pokémon, but they have a higher chance to be shiny.
Lastly, the Lunar New Year 2024 event is going to have special Field Research tasks. Try to complete as many of them as you can, because the resulting Special Encounters may have a Drampa in them, and they might even be shiny!
So, let’s recap: To increase your odds of finding a shiny Drampa, you need to:
- Get out and explore as much as possible to potentially run into a shiny Drampa.
- Battle in Three-Star Raids with Drampa.
- Complete the Lunar New Year 2024 event Field Research tasks.
Good luck with your shiny hunting, and we hope you nab yourself a shiny Drampa! If you have any other shiny hunting strategies, let us know in the comments below, and don’t forget to check out the rest of our Pokémon Go coverage.
