Link can purchase his own house at Tarrey Town once again, and with the help of Ultrahand, you can now buy individual house components and stick them together to create your dream home. One of the components is a Garden Pond, so you might be wondering how to add stuff to it. Here is how to add fish to the Garden Pond in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

If you have not already, head to Tarrey Town in Akkala and complete the side quest to help Hudson spend more time with his daughter. Once you do, you can purchase a home plot for 1,500 Rupees a little out to the southeast, near the Rasitakiwak Shrine.

You start out with two rooms for free, and you can buy more by talking to Grantéson. You can purchase a quaint little Garden Pond for 300 Rupees, and it comes stocked with a Sanke Carp for free. The Sanke Carp respawns over time, so feel free to take them.

For home decorators, you might be wondering if there is a way to add more fish to the Garden Pond. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as taking fish out of your inventory and dropping them into the pond, because, well, they have been sitting dead in your inventory for quite some time now. Rest in peace, little guys.

In order to properly add fish to the Garden Pond, you require the Mipha Amiibo. Open your ability wheel, and choose the Amiibo ability. Point the target in the water to the best of your ability, like so:

Scan Mipha’s Amiibo and voilà—you just added more fish to the Garden Pond! Sadly, however, this is a rather hollow victory, as leaving Tarrey Town or fast traveling anywhere causes the new fish to despawn. There does not seem to be a permanent way of adding fish to the Garden Pond. But hey, at least that Sanke Carp keeps coming back.

It is best to scan the Mipha Amiibo only when you want to sit back and relax at your house’s Garden Pond, as you only get to enjoy the new fish for a fleeting moment.
