How Long is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an action-adventure game developed by LucasArts and part of The Force Unleashed multimedia project. It was initially developed for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles and on iOS, second-generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java-equipped mobile phone handhelds. The game was released in North America on September 16, 2008, in Australia and Southeast Asia on September 17, and in Europe on September 19.

The game saw great commercial success which led to a Nintendo Switch release down the road. This version is basically an enhanced remaster of the Wii version, developed by Aspyr Studios, and is set to be released on April 20, 2022.

Features

According to the story of the game, the player plays as Starkiller, the secret apprentice of Darth Vader. With an unending hatred nurtured by Vader himself, Starkiller has been trained to hunt down and destroy the Jedi.

The game mechanics let players take advantage of Starkiller’s devastating Force powers and lightsaber combos in order to do Darth Vader’s bidding. Similar to the 2008 release on the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo Joy-Con motion controls are utilized to make the player truly feel the destructive power of the Force or even challenge a friend to a 1v1 in the local multiplayer Duel mode.

Story and Duration

As far as the story of the game goes, chronologically, it is set to take place between Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. It is an untold original story that even longtime fans of the series would not know of unless they played the original versions of this game.

For being such a story intensive game, it provides a lot of hours of fun and engagement for players on any platform they choose to play this on. On an average run, the main story takes about 8 hours to fully complete, provided there are no hitches in difficulty. If the player chooses to complete all of the side quests and extra content as well, an average time of 11 hours has been recorded. If the player wishes to go all the way with a completionist run, it should take no more than 20 hours, averaging at around 17 hours, typically.
