How do Healing and Shield Items work in Apex Legends Mobile?

If you’re a veteran of the original Apex Legends, then you’ll be pleased to know that the healing and shield items in Apex Legends Mobile work exactly as they do in the original game. If you’re not familiar, don’t worry, as we’ll explain everything you need to know about how the healing and shield items work.

Your Legend has two lines at the bottom of the screen to show how healthy they are. The bottom, thicker bar is your health, and the segmented bar above is your shields. You don’t have shields until you pick up an Evo or Body Shield, and the rarity of it determines your maximum amount of shields.

When you take damage, you’ll lose shields first, if you have any. When your shields are gone, you’ll start losing health. You’ll go down if your health drops to zero, at which point you’ll have a bar of temporary health. One of your squad mates has to pick you back up before you’re finished off or lose all of your temporary health.

Neither your shields nor health will regenerate on their own under normal circumstances, so you’ll have to rely on pickups to replenish your reserves. There are a few items you can find scattered around, so make sure to scavenge if you’re low on healing supplies. Here are all the possible healing and shield items you can find:

  • Syringe: Inject yourself for 5 seconds to heal 25 health.
  • Med Kit: Inject yourself for 8 seconds to heal all health.
  • Shield Cell: Recharge for 3 seconds to restore 25 shields.
  • Shield Battery: Recharge for 5 seconds to restore all shields.
  • Phoenix Kit: Deploy the kit for 8 seconds to restore all shields and health.

You can use your healing items by tapping the button to the right of your health and shields bar. As you can see, every restorative item requires a bit of time to use, so you definitely don’t want to use them in the middle of a firefight. Try to duck behind some cover before you start using an item. You can always cancel healing if you get caught out, so keep that in mind.
