1. Complete the achievements!

Achievements are listed on the right side of the main menu. They will have to do various tasks, such as upgrading a specific building to a specified level, or attack a player, and so forth. Once you do these tasks, you can go collect your reward, which is usually gems! Achievements are one of the few ways to obtain gems without paying real money, so you should always be working towards them.

2. Always have a quest queued up!

Quests can be taken through the main menu. You don’t have to actually do anything on a quest, you just need to wait a pre-determined time. You can check how long a quest will take to complete before you undergo them. It’s worth nothing that the longer a quest will take, the better the rewards will be, so try to take one around your playstyle. If you’re constantly playing and checking the game, pick the shorter quests. If you’ve got to do something and it’ll be a while before you can check in with the game again, pick a long quest.

3. Don’t waste any resources!

You’ll quickly notice that you have a cap on both your gold and oil. Before you go out to raid another village or complete a quest, be sure to spend your resources if you’re near your maximum limit. Any resources that you cannot hold are immediately wasted, so don’t let that happen! Upgrade your gold and oil storages as much as you can, whenever you can!

4. Target defensive structures first when raiding!

When you raid another camp, you should always prioritize defensive structures first, such as cannons. If you can get these buildings down first, the entire camp will be vulnerable to attack and you won’t have to face any retaliation! Likewise, you should build multiple defensive structures at your base. At the beginning, you will have access to walls, archer towers, and cannons. Use walls to wall off important structures, such as your town hall and gold/oil reserves. Additionally, you can wall off your cannons and archer towers to make them harder to destroy.

5. Join a guild!

The game will encourage you to join a guild early on, as you should do so as soon as possible! When you’re in a guild, fellow guild members can assist you by reducing your building times, sending extra troops to your aid, and so on. Find a guild with a moderate amount of members and hop in. Just be sure to do your part too; if another guild members is asking for assistance, a “help” button will show up on the left side of the main menu. Here you can help guild members who are building something.

That should be it, captain. If you have any other questions or suggestions, leave a comment below!
