GyroSphere Trials is a physics-based platforming game where you must guide the titular GyroSphere to the end of each level. Easier said than done, however! The levels in this game are filled with obstacles and bottomless pits and you must take the utmost care to ensure the GyroSphere doesn’t fall off to its doom! 1. Take your time!
On the first play through of a level you’ve never attempted before, take your time! I know it sounds counter-intuitive because you want to beat the clock, but there’s no quicker way to frustrate yourself than trying to rush through a tricky level. The levels in this game require tight, precise jumps, turns, and brakes so you really need to know what you’re doing to beat the timer. That said, the best way to go about this is to do a “practice” run first then try the level again to the beat the time.
2. Control your momentum!
This biggest factor in mastering control in this game is to know when to control your speed. Letting your ball roll into warp speed is the quickest way to fling yourself off the level, so be sure to watch how fast you’re going. This goes double when there are slants and slopes involved. Natural gravity will build momentum in your ball, so be careful when you’re going down slopes! Quick backwards swipes are useful for slowing down.
3. Make your own shortcuts!
Once you’ve gotten accustomed to the physics in this game, you should be able to come up with your own shortcuts. For example, say you’re on a higher plane and you see a slope going down with a sharp turn. From the higher spots, you can build enough speed to bypass the slope altogether and land on lower platform. This will save you a ton of time and is very useful for shaving off seconds. Of course, there’s risk to it as well. If you don’t have good control, you’ll send yourself flying off!
4. Beat your old times for more lives!
Running low on lives? If you go back and revisit levels that you got all 5 medals on, you can earn some more lives. If you can beat your previous record that got you all the medals, you’ll be rewarded with five extra lives. This is useful if you need more lives or if you just want to hone your skills.
5. Collect your daily reward!
Besides that, the game will automatically give you 20 lives every day. Be sure to check back here and there even if you don’t plan on playing. It’s good to stock up on extra lives!
