Among the many sub-events, we have one called Wondrous Shadows, in which you have to rotate different pieces of wood to form a known structure using its shadow.

If you have played Resident Evil 7, you will know what we are talking about—so the thing is, many players are finding it hard to solve the Wondrous Shadows event riddles or puzzles, whatever you like to call it.

Seeing that, we have prepared a handy Genshin Impact guide that shares details on the Wondrous Shadows event, the Riddles, and other things.

Unlike other sub-events, the Wondrous Shadows has no big introductory quest. Just go and talk to the NPC Yuan Rong, and she will tell you about the Wondrous Shadow event.

Right next to her, there is a lantern-like mechanism. Interact with it to start the sub-event.

In each part of the event, you have to solve three shadow riddles. Since we are at Part II, at current, you will have six riddles to solve.

The first three riddles are easy to solve, as there is only one segment that you can rotate using:

  • Mobile Platform – drag a single finger to rotate the segment in all directions. Use pinch action for axial rotation.
  • PC – hold mouse left click to rotate segment in all directions. Hold Left + Right mouse click for axial rotation.
  • Console – Rotate using analog sticks.

Here are screenshots of the things you have to make in all six riddles. It’s easier to solve the riddle if you know what structure you have to make using the segment/s.

The only tip we can give you for solving the puzzle is that when you are rotating the segments, instead of focusing on the riddle progress meter, try to get rid of all the empty areas from the middle of the shadow. That is, your structure should not be full of holes.

Also, as you progress the event, you will get more than one segments to rotate. Since the chance to solve the riddle is unlimited, you can take your time in solving the shadow riddle. Once you solve the riddle, you can retake the challenge and try to solve it in less time.

That’s it for now. Make sure to check out our coverage on the Genshin Impact version 2.4 update.
