Use the environment to your advantage!

On your space travels, you may come across strange looking flora, attached by a stem to the planet. These wondrous plants can actually affect you in different ways, so be careful. Of course, this goes for your enemies as well, and you might even be able to use them on your foes!

You have probably notice those clusters of little bubbles. When a ship comes in contact with them, they cling onto it and slow the ship down. This can be really helpful especially against the Dark Bots! There is also the spike plant, which detonates when struck and launches razor sharp needles in many directions. Use this to damage groups of foes, but take care not to get hit yourself!

Know your defensive options!

When piloting a Fighter, remember that you can dodge roll by double tapping or swiping up on the boost button. You are essentially invincible during the one second animation, so precise timing is needed to get the most out of it. Dodge roll goes on a short cooldown after you use it, so be careful not to spam it.

When piloting a Mech, your shield automatically comes up when you are not attacking or charging up. The shield will block bullets for you, but it can only take so much damage before it needs to recharge. When you are going up against bug enemies, you can actually parry their bite attacks with the shield, rendering them temporarily stunned. Go in for the attack!

In addition to that, the Mech’s charged saber slash can actually outright destroy projectiles. Use this if your shield goes down!

Replay levels for more Relics!

While Relics contain a random amount of salvage, bot parts, and crash coins, they always contain a fixed number of ship upgrade fragments. When you are going into a level, you can actually see how many more unique Relics are on that level. Replaying older levels where you got the Relic already will let you get another one, which will have more fragments in it.

To ensure maximum upgrade potential, you will need to replay earlier levels several times to get all of the possible Relics. While it is a bit of a drag, your ship will upgrade much earlier than usual! If you have found everything possible on a level, the map icon will turn into a green check mark.

Watch your armor!

The energy system in GALAK-Z is actually tied to your ship’s armor. When your shields go down, any successive damage reduces your armor. Armor can be repaired manually by using salvage or waiting… for about half a day. That’s right – to repair your armor automatically, you will need to wait up to 12 hours to do so. Be careful out there, or you might have to spend all of your hard-earned salvage on repairs!

Use bots to amplify your playstyle!

Each bot provides a different passive upgrade to your ships when equipped. There is no “best” configuration, so just use what helps you the most. Do you find yourself constantly having to repair? Equip some shield-boosting bots! Want to zip around faster and dodge easier? Use bots that boost your acceleration speed and turbo!

Experiment with bots for PvP!

When assembling your bot team for PvP, make sure to consider the bots’ strengths and classes. Each bot is classified as either a tank bot, an attack bot, or a speed bot. Speed bots tend to zip around the field, confusing your opponents. Attack bots fire a steady stream of bullets at the enemy, and Tank bots prefer to get up close and personal. Experiment around with the bots to see which combos work the best!

Remember that you can enter a test battle with your bots to see how they would react in a live match against another player, so use this tool often to compare your strategies and team setups!
