How to Get 120 FPS on PS5 in Fortnite

To get 120 FPS in Fortnite on PS5, you must first enable the Performance Mode in your console Settings and then open Fortnite > Settings > Video and enable the 120 FPS mode. 

If you don’t know how to turn on Performance Mode in your PS5 settings, then follow the below steps:

  • Turn on your PS5 and log into your account. 
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Press X on Save Data and Game/App Settings.
  • Go to Game Presets.
  • Click on Performance Mode or Resolution Mode and select Performance Mode.

Note: If your TV and AV setup doesn’t support 4K at 120hz, enabling Performance Mode might affect your output resolution in-game. [Via Epic Games]

Once that is done, your PS5 will be in Performance Mode and ready to run Fortnite at 120 FPS. Ensure you have a TV or monitor that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate; otherwise, enabling 120 FPS will mean nothing. 

That said, now enable 120 FPS in Fortnite using the below steps:

  • Open Fortnite on your PS5.
  • Click on the menu icon denoted by three lines. [You will find it in the top right corner.]
  • Go to Settings.
  • Click on Video.
  • Toggle 120 FPS mode to ON.
  • Click Apply to finalize the setting.
