I will tell you everything you need to know to make this game the best game you’ve ever player (as long as you like fishing at least), so let’s get into it!
Without further ado, here is our Fishing & Life tips and tricks to help you become better and catch all the best fish in the sea!
Catch the Chests you see floating around!
First thing that you should do once you get in the game is pick up all the floating chests you see on the sea. They will give you gold which you can use to upgrade your boat, fishing rod and net, and much more.
I suggest always picking up the chests when you see them, because all you have to do is walk up to them and that’s it! It’s super easy, and it’s something that you simply cannot regret doing.
The gold chests will give you a lot of gold for watching an ad, while silver chests will give you less gold but don’t require you to watch an ad to obtain. Either way, go for all of the chests that you see because you will need every single piece of gold.
Find a good fishing spot and farm there
Depending on the boat you are rocking, you can advance a certain length away from the shore. I suggest that you find a spot that is well filled with fish for the current boat that you have, and try to farm the bigger fish.
It might take a while to get the best fish from that area, but be patient and it will all come to you.
Use the smaller and not so good fish as bait
You will often (and I mean OFTEN) pick up some fish that are not even worth keeping to sell. These fish should be used as bait, because the other fish will love it! These smaller fish are actually made specifically for that, so use them as bait!
If you happen to catch some more expensive smaller fish, keep them. They can be great for selling and getting all the gold you need for the upgrades.
Make all the right upgrades
You will need to make quite a few upgrades in the game to be able to get better, and I will tell you exactly what you should focus on at first, and in which order it’s best to upgrade everything.
Right when you are getting started, you should collect fish and sell them to gain gold for the upgrades. Also, don’t neglect to pick up the chests! After doing so, head on to the Port and make a few upgrades, like this:
– Upgrade the Fishing Rod to level 5
– Upgrade the Line to level 5-7
– Upgrade the Reel to level 3
These should be your targets when you first go back. Afterwards you will start saving gold for the next available Boat (9000 gold). After getting the next boat you will be able to advance further and unlock new fishing areas.
– Upgrade the Fishing Rod to level 8
– Upgrade the Line to level 10
– Upgrade the Reel to level 5
These should follow after you have upgraded the boat. In my opinion this is the best way that you can make all the right upgrades, so I really think that if you want to properly make the upgrades in the right order, it should be this: Fishing Rod -> Line -> Reel.
Watch an ad to make upgrades for free
You can choose to watch a short ad to make some of the upgrades for free instead of spending gold. These are available all the time, especially after you have ran out of gold. So if you want to make upgrades for free without spending a dime, it’s a nice and easy way to do it for simply watching an ad.
Get free Gold!
When you go to the Shop you will have four tabs at the top: Item, Boat, Characters and Gold store. Head on to the Gold store and tap on the first option you see! This will reward you with anything between 700-1500 Gold, and all in exchange for watching an ad. It’s definitely worth it if you don’t want to spend time playing but still make upgrades.
Unlock new Characters
In the Shop you will be able to unlock new characters to send out and scoop out the fish for you. The character you start as is the Beginner angler, but soon you will be able to purchase the Amateur Angler, which increases the money by 10%.
Soon after, you should focus on getting the Professional angler (20% money increase) for 22k Gold, and eventually the Legendary Angler (40% money increase). They are super good and useful and you shouldn’t forget about making this upgrade!
Complete missions for more gold!
In the top right side of the screen you will see a mission which tells you that if you collect the fish required there, you can earn a ton of gold. If you want an extra way to gather gold, here you have it!
Also, keep in mind that once you have collected 2 of the 3 required fish for the mission, you can choose to watch an ad to complete the mission without actually having the missing fish! It’s super useful if you don’t mind constantly watching ads!

No, they only generate 1 gold per fish but larger fish require less feeding and give longer gold generation.
