Dream Detective Cheats: Tips & Guide to Uncover All Mysteries & Find All Items

In today’s article we will cover all of the Dream Detective tips and cheats to help you find all the clues in the game and help you pass all the stages, just like a real detective!

I have to admit, this game has kept me playing for one too many hours, as the graphics and animations and just too good, and the engaging interactions and the style they are drawn in are extremely adorable (and at the same time simple). Also, let’s not forget about all of the fun modes that you can play!

But enough praising for now – you came here to learn all of the Dream Detective tips and tricks, so that’s exactly what we are going to do! So without further ado, let’s not waste another second and dive right into the Dream Detective game guide!

Keep calm and explore the areas

All of the stages will look the same, except for the fact that they will have 3 difficulties in which you can try your luck. I would suggest that you start playing the very first levels and take your time exploring all of the areas, while trying to remember where most items are.

The best thing you could do is try to more or less memorize the stages and then play them one difficulty after the other, starting with Beginner. It’s the easiest way to progress through in my opinion.

My tip here:

I always like to play the stages until I have finished them completely, so if I start with the first one, The Detective’s Home, I first play in the Beginner mode and try to remember where most items are and then move on to Detective difficulty, and then Expert, because that way the memory of the place with where most of the items were is still fresh and you will find them much easier.

Change your avatar / detective outfit and looks

It should go without saying that as a detective you will be able to equip pretty much anything in order to customize your character. In order to change your avatar’s looks, all that you need to do is tap on to the avatar icon in the top side of the screen. There, it will pop up a new window where you can see your achievements and change the outfit.

Unlock the free outfits

The free outfits can be claimed by watching an advertisement, and once you do it will unlock said outfit permanently. I suggest that you do this if there is a particular outfit which you like out of the free ones, or if you want to change the default outfit into something.

In the hair section you will be able to see more free outfits (free for watching an ad) if you scroll down, but for the other items the free ones are located only at the top.

Level up and complete missions to unlock outfits

There are some outfits which can only be unlocked when you have reached a certain level (20, 30, and so on) and there are some which are given out as Activity Rewards. I suggest that you try to level up as much as you can and then unlock the outfit which you like – or try to complete the activities in order to claim the other outfits.

Rebuild your dream castle

One super fun activity which you can do with the coins that you’ve kept on collecting from the in game stages is to rebuild your castle. This can be done by heading on to the Castle tab in the bottom side of the screen. There, you can tap on all of the items in the room and use the Coins to repair them.

Repair all the items

The items can be repaired over time, by tapping on them, selecting the Repair button (if you have enough Coins) and then you will have to wait a couple of seconds until the repair process is complete. When the timer is finished, you can tap on the Collect button to receive the repaired item.

I suggest that you try and repair everything and check out the Repair List in the top side of the screen. Try to complete all the tasks written there, starting with the ones located in the area that you are in.

Keep in mind: You can repair up to 2 items of furniture at once, so if you want to speed things up a notch you can try to activate two at once if you have the Coins – but never more than 2.

Change the objects in the castle

If you would like to change the look of an item which you have repaired, you can tap and hold on to open the change menu. Changing the color of the item can be done for free, so you can change them at any time!

Play the exclusive levels

When you head on to the Activity tab you will be able to see there the game’s exclusive levels, which are time limited. They will give you a number of items to find and once you do, you’ll be rewarded with plenty of Coins.

I suggest that you play these levels whenever you can, because they are pretty fun and the Coins are definitely worth it!

Get free Coins!

There are a few ways in which you can receive free Coins, so let me tell you how you can do that! Basically if you are looking to upgrade your Castle and unlock more stuff, what you should be doing is to claim free Coins in all the ways that you can, as follows:

Claim the Beginner Package for free!

In the top right side of the screen you will see the menu with a gift icon. Tap on that, and it will open the Beginner Package which you can collect! Make sure that you are collecting this every single day, because it’s free Coins! This package is free to claim 5 times, every 30 minutes, and it will require you to watch an advertisement to claim.

Spin the Lucky Wheel

The Lucky Wheel can be found in the Store menu, in the upper right side of the Store. There, you can use your ad cards which skip having to watch in game ads (if you don’t have these, check below!) and let you get straight to spinning the wheel.

As rewards you can receive Coins or Energy, so make sure that you are spinning it whenever you are running low on Coins or Energy!

One other thing which you can do is to try to get as many ad cards as you can and use them to spin plenty of times to farm Coins or Energy without playing the challenges.

Open the special chests

Once you spinned the Lucky Wheel 5 times, you will be able to open a special chest which contains a lot of Coins! This chest gave me 900 Coins, so it’s super useful if you want to spam a few wheel spins! When you want to collect this chest, you should make sure that you watch an ad to claim triple rewards – that’s how I got so many Coins.

Get the item which skips the ads!

Funny enough, in the game there is an option (on the right side of the Beginner Package) which offers you to watch ads and rewards you with up to 2 items which let you skip in game ads, by watching ads!

It’s quite a confusing feature in the game, but if you want you can watch several ads and claim these, as they are some useful feature. This option / offer is super useful because there is a chance that you receive 2 ad cards instead of one, so with 1 ad you can skip 2 ads (IF you are that lucky!).

Check out the hidden areas

Sometimes as you are playing, there will be some certain hidden areas which can contain the items which you are looking for towards completing said level. I suggest that if you can’t find one of the items in the list, then you can tap on the item to get a hint as to where it is – and if you think that it should be in one location but you can’t notice it, then tap on that location because it might take you to a hidden place!

Get hints about the items

You can get hints about several items by tapping on them – however, the hints that you are getting can act more like a riddle than anything else! And if that is the case, then you should try to solve it or try to figure out what areas they are referring to.

Most of the time the answer is right there in the text, so try to put 1 and 2 together and you will have a pretty good time solving them! Just try to not use the item hints until you are completely sure that you need them, because if you use too many hints, you will not complete the levels with max score!
