As part of his training, Goku will fight both Piccolo and Gohan. Here’s how to defeat them without too many troubles.

How to Defeat Piccolo and Gohan in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

You will fight Piccolo and Gohan at the start of the Cell Saga using Goku. The battle is not too difficult, but you will need to come prepared, as fighting both of them at the same time can be complicated.

Before the battle even begins, make sure you have enough healing items, as you will need them quite often during the fight, since it will be impossible to avoid attacks from the character that stands in the back using Ki and ranged special attacks. The character you will focus on will only unleash melee attacks, so guarding is the better defensive option most of the time.

As Piccolo is considerably stronger than Gohan, it’s better to go after him first. Use only short-range special attacks, as attacks like the Kamehameha will be interrupted easily. Turn into Super Saiyan as often as you can as well, as the additional damage granted by the transformation will help you make short work of your opponents.
