Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot: How to Defeat Great Ape Gohan

While Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is mostly focused on Goku’s story, there will be plenty of times where you will have to control other characters and take down some powerful enemies.

After defeating Raditz, Goku will be out of commission for a while, and it will be up to Piccolo, Gohan, and all of the other Z Warriors to get ready for the incoming Saiyan invasion. Only that something goes wrong during Gohan’s training, and it will be Piccolo the one that will have to set things right.

How to Defeat Great Ape Gohan in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Great Ape Gohan is fought during the Saiyan Saga, and you will be using Piccolo for this fight. While the character fights pretty much as Goku does, he has some unique special attacks that you will need to learn how to use pretty quickly.

Great Ape Gohan has some powerful attacks at his disposal which let him attack from both short and long-range effectively. Short-range attacks like the front swipe and jumping attacks are powerful and can be a little difficult to dodge, so it’s considerably better to fight from long range using Rapid Fire Ki Wave and the Special Beam Cannon. Use them when you see an opening like right after Gohan has used Mouth Cannon, as he will be defenseless for a short while.

Keep your distance, avoid the long-range attacks from the Ape, block those that are difficult to dodge, like the Rock Throw attack, and Gohan will soon be defeated, reverting back to his human form.
