Hogwarts Legacy is finally here, following multiple delays and a lot of anticipation from fans. Based on early reviews, the game has received nothing short of praise, as it promises to deliver a magical RPG with hours upon hours of content to sink your teeth into. Taking place in Hogwarts, it allows players to explore the entirety of the wizarding school and its surrounding areas, such as Hogsmeade.
As such, it’s easy to get stuck in a particular story quest as you take a break from the game’s main missions and focus on some side quests for a while. And, as previously announced, there are more than 50 side quests in the game, which is sure to keep you busy for a while. But do these side quests show up on the map in Hogwarts Legacy? Here is how it works.
Do side quests show up on the map in Hogwarts Legacy?
Hogwarts Legacy has a total of 57 side quests. Most become available as you progress through the game’s story, while others don’t become available until you get to a certain point or interact with a particular character.
Side quests are scattered throughout the map, and you can spot them by keeping an eye out for the point of interest sign whenever you view the map. Many of them will come from and around areas of Hogwarts, either from a fellow student or professor seeking your help.
In addition to its 57 side quests, Hogwarts Legacy also has 42 main story quests. So, whenever you want to take a break from the story, simply wander about the castle or surrounding areas of Hogwarts to find some side quests.
Keep in mind that the game’s assignments will not count as part of the 57 side quests, as assignments are different from side quests and can be completed separately. For now, there are 11 assignments, which can help you unlock new spells for your character after completion.
There’s a lot you can do in Hogwarts Legacy, from finding important collectables to battling magical creatures and befriending other students in Hogwarts with your trusted companion, and you’ll surely have a great time with this one.
Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch globally for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on Feb. 10, 2023. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will follow later this year.
