Desert Island Fishing Cheats: Tips & Strategy Guide

Start your epic fishing adventure now with Desert Island Fishing! In this game you will assume the role of many stranded adventurers. Go fishing for exotic fish, buy new fishing rods, get new bait, and become the ultimate fisher!

Each character has a backstory to them, and only by finding enough fish will the truth be uncovered. There’s a lot to tackle here, so our Desert Island Fishing cheats and tips will point you in the right direction.

Desert Island Fishing is, despite the initial fishing mechanic, a lot more complex than it seems. Let us guide you on your fishing adventure with our Desert Island Fishing cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

Time your hooks well!

Once your line gets a bite, you will have to time your taps in conjunction with the hook icons. While this doesn’t seem to be too important at first, we quickly realized that how well you time the hooks determines where your starting point on the fishing gauge starts off.

For example, if you time it perfectly, the fishing gauge will start in the center of the green bar, making it easier to catch the fish.

This is incredibly important if you’re trying to catch the tougher fish, as you risk breaking your line right off the bat if you start too far away from the green zone on the fishing gauge. Make sure you time the hooks well!

Put your highest value fish in the aquarium!

After you fish up the aquarium, you can place any item/fish from your inventory into the tank. Put your highest value item in – don’t worry if it’s a key item. We were concerned that if you put a key item in, you would lose that ability, but you don’t!

Go ahead and throw in the one of the mini game cartridges, the globe, what have you – just keep in mind that fish are usually the better deal.

The higher rank a fish is, the more money it’ll generate over time. The aquarium is a great way to supplement your income in addition to the fish you sell, so it’s a good idea to put something rare in it as soon as possible.

Try to work towards one set!

After you complete the first couple of tutorial sets, you will be given multiple sets at any given time. Be careful about trying to collect everything at once – you have limited inventory space and you will fill it very quickly if you do this.

You need a whopping 100 pearls to increase your inventory space, so it’s not something you will be able to do for a while. Try to limit yourself to working towards one set at a time to avoid this problem.

Use the radar often!

Don’t feel too bad if you get overwhelmed at some point when playing Desert Island Fishing, as there is a lot to take in at any given time. The radar at the bottom left corner is there for this very reason, so use it whenever you need some guidance!

It conveniently lists the closest possible set for you to complete, alongside what character you need be and how strong your rod needs to be.

Activate the time multiplier!

Unfortunately you can’t really get by with selling fish. You’ve probably noticed already but the prices on the better bait and rods are very expensive, and at some point you will run out of money if you’re just selling fish. We highly recommend that when you’re playing you tap on the TV icon at the top of the screen.

This will take you to the special advertisement page where, upon watching a short ad, you will activate a gold multiplier for two hours. This will really help you alleviate some money problems later on, and it’s better than watching multiple ads from the letters you fish up sometimes.

That’s all for Desert Island Fishing! If you have any other tips or tricks to share, let us know in the comments below!
