Guardians in SMITE are sustainable tanks that are able to survive and protect their team. In order to defend their allies, guardians prefer to fight in the frontline and use different crowd control abilities to disable enemies. The top guardians in the current meta are Cthulhu, Yemoja, Atlas, Ares, Athena, Artio, and Cabrakan.

When you play as a guardian, you want to focus on building different items that improve your sustainability and provide your allies with useful buffs. As a starter item, we recommend you pick Benevolence. In the late game, you will be able to turn it into Compassion.
There are lots of possible items that you can choose for your guardian. You should buy those that provide you with better stats against enemy gods. If the enemy team has a lot of physical damage, then you should pick items that provide you with more armor.
