Commanders Cheats: Tips & Strategy Guide to Building the Best Base

War has destroyed the world, and all that remains is ashes. Commanders is a base building game that has you raise an army from scratch to take back what’s left of the world. It’s plays extremely similar to other base building games, so we’ll take a quick look at it with our Commanders cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

1. Follow the missions!

At the bottom left corner of the screen, you’ll see your next recommended mission. It is – as you can guess – recommended to follow these missions as they will take you down the general progression route and ensure your base is up to snuff. Don’t forget to collect your rewards for completing them!

2. Upgrade Recon!

You will research the first level of the Recon ability during the tutorial. This ability allows you to scout out information on enemy-controlled zones. The problem is, at level 1, recon tells you stuff you can see by just tapping the basic info of the zone. Don’t bother using Recon until you upgrade it to further levels, allowing you to see exact information, such as the amount of troops stationed at the zone and what types.

3. Join an alliance right away!

Unlike other base building games, the construction times in this game get super long very quickly. Thankfully, if you’re in an alliance, you can request for help. Other players who are currently playing that are in your alliance can shorten the time on your construction. You also receive help if you get attacked by other players! Needless to say, try to join an open alliance right away.

4. Get your base up and running before you attack other players!

When you start the game, your base is given a 24-hour protective shield. This shield prevents other players from assaulting your base, so use this precious time to get your defenses up and running. Upgrades your structures, research new defensive structures, and train your army. You’re open to the world once that shield goes down!

5. Collect your mystery reward!

The small little black box at the bottom left is a mystery reward. It contains random goodies, and can be opened every couple minutes or so. This timer is pretty short, usually around 20 minutes or less, so check it often to keep your resources high!

6. Keep your queues full!

You have three separate construction queues: one for buildings, one for training new units, and one for research. If you’re currently waiting on a building to finish, make sure you have units being trained or research going on! Be as efficient as possible to get your base up quickly.

That’s all for Commanders for now. If you have any other tips or tricks to share, leave a comment below!
