NAPS Team has confirmed that a new Gekido game is currently in development and should be released early next year. A new screenshot has been released for this new game, showcasing beautiful hand drawn 2D graphics. We have no idea on how the game will play but that will definitely not bee too different from the other entries of the series, which featured a side-scrolling gameplay experience like Streets Of Rage, Final Fight and others.

Together with the PlayStation 1 title, the Gekido series received a GameBoy Advanced game called Gekido Advanced: Kintaro’s Revenge. A sequel to the original game has been announced around 10 years ago but was eventually cancelled.

Gekido iOS will be released on a yet to be confirmed date on the App Store. We will keep an eye on the game for you so stay tuned for all the latest news.
