The open-world game will see players go about their wizarding ways like never before after they’ve become students at the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As we await the release of the game, can you turn evil in Hogwarts Legacy? Let’s check out the game’s morality system.

Can You Turn Evil in Hogwarts Legacy? – Morality System Explained

There are very few people who have been able to get their hands on the game for now, so this question can be interpreted in different ways and will lead to different speculations that’ll influence an appropriate answer. However, allow us to say that based on your character’s abilities, will, allies and a world of magic, you can, in some variation turn evil in Hogwarts Legacy.

And before we say any more, let us take you back to the game’s FAQ page that confirms there is no morality system in Hogwarts Legacy, which means that little actions and the spells you cast will not always influence or determine whether you’re evil or good in the game.

Rather, this will be determined by the game’s multiple quest lines and however, you decide to explore it will help you determine whether you’re evil or not. We also know that the game will have more than one endings, and although we’re not certain, it’s very unlikely that any of these endings will see you become an evil sorcerer, despite your character being able to do some “evil” things in the game.

So far, the most notable feature we know of in the game that is likely to see your character become evil is the Dark Arts and Unforgivable Curses. And your character is free to learn them if they wish. And although you can learn the spells and play with them, it won’t have a massive impact on the story.

Ultimately, despite being able to use dark magic, without a morality system it’ll be very difficult and unlikely even to turn to the dark side completely, but as aforesaid, the game has multiple endings and as we’ve seen with many games that have multiple endings, just about anything is possible.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch on February 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
