Starter Pokémon

Pokémon Legends: Arceus presents players with the generic three starter Pokémon option. The only difference is that each of the starter Pokémon hail from different regions. The three starter Pokémon are:

  • Cyndaquil: From what later became the Johto region
  • Rowlet: From what later became the Alola region
  • Oshawott: From what later became the Unova region

These three starters have their own Hisui variations upon evolution, indicating how different regions shape different Pokémon. Each of these Pokémon are coveted in their own ways and players have asked if it was possible to acquire all three of them in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

The short answer to that question is, Yes! It is very possible to get all three starter Pokémon, and this is how.

Getting all three starter Pokémon

Acquiring all the starter Pokémon is actually much easier in Pokémon Legends: Arceus than it is in the older Pokémon games. To start off with, the player gets to choose one of the three at the beginning, which leaves two more to acquire.

Scattered throughout the Hisui region are Space-Time distortion fields. They are purple, spherical fields that randomly appear throughout the overworld. Space-time distortion fields bring a variety of different Pokémon with them, and though getting Starter Pokémon isn’t a sure thing, these fields are the only place they can spawn.

However, there is one way that players can acquire them guaranteed.

Once the player finishes the main storyline of the game, they can go back to Professor Laventon’s lab. Upon initiating a conversation with the Professor, he will be prompted to give you the other two starters that you didn’t choose at the beginning of the game!

If the player has had no luck with the space-time distortion fields, we recommend going for this approach to get all of the starters!
