Hogwarts Legacy is finally here, after much anticipation. Although players who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game already got access from Feb. 7, the Standard Edition will launch globally on Feb. 10, allowing PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S owners to join the party.
In Hogwarts Legacy, there’s a lot you can do as a student in the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, inspired by the acclaimed Harry Potter franchise. So, if you’re already playing the game, you might be wondering how to get to places fast. But can you fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy? Here is all you need to know.
Can you fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy?
The open-world setting in Hogwarts Legacy is incredibly large. So large that if you play the game for a while, you start to wonder if there’s a way to fast-travel to certain places rather than having to walk or run all the way there.
The good news is you actually can fast travel in the game using a Flying Broom, or even on foot. And since the game has loads of secrets, mysteries and side quests, some missions are better completed earlier than others. If you’re looking to find all collectables, for example, then you have to fast travel to locate them.
Using Floo Flames to fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy
There’s a special spell you can cast in the source material that allows you to fast travel to the Floo Flames. These Floo Flames are all over the game’s map, like landmarks that you can use to find your way, except you can’t use them if you’re just starting the game.
Before you can use them, you need to play until you meet Professor Weasley and learn about fast travel from her. From there, as you play the game and explore more areas, you also unlock new Floo Flames. You can also use these Floo Flames outside of missions or quests.
And although fast travelling can help you get to certain places faster, we advise actually taking the time to explore the early stages of the game on foot. That way, you can take in the beauty of the game’s open-world environments, rather than just using fast travel from the start.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC and current-generation consoles, coming soon to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
