Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest instalment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.
The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh eventually. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles as was the staple of the series thus far.
Legendary Pokémon were a big part of the franchise’s appeal, especially with the monumental lore and story build-up to them, leading to a challenging climactic battle!
Legendary Pokémon
Legendary Pokémon were a part of the Pokémon franchise since Generation 1’s games of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow. These Pokémon were different from all the others since they were one-of-a-kind, unique Pokémon that had to be encountered using specialized means.
Each Legendary Pokémon, from the Legendary Bird Trio of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres to Eternatus, has been unique and their encounters have been isolated as compared to non-Legendary Pokémon. Since there’s always just one of these Pokémon in every Pokémon game, they are generally difficult to encounter and capture.
Another factor that makes them difficult to capture is the fact that if the player gets them low enough to capture and accidentally defeats them, they won’t be able to fight them again. But there are certain exceptions to this rule in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Legendary Pokémon Rematch
There are certain Legendary Pokémon in Legends: Arceus that can be rematched if the player defeats them once. Those Pokémon are limited to Dialga, Palkia and Arceus. Unfortunately, the rest of the Legendary Pokémon in the game are a one-time encounter only.

To get a rematch with these three Legendary Pokémon, the player needs to head to the Temple of Sinnoh after fully completing their Pokédex and challenging Arceus once. Upon arriving at the temple, the player’s Arc Phone will start beeping alerting them about the rematch with Arceus and the lords of Time and Space!
