Pokémon GO was a smash hit when it first came out, breaking all sorts of concurrent player records for the Pokémon franchise all over the world!
As is with every Pokémon game, players are tasked with searching for Pokémon to capture and collect, using them to battle other Pokémon, be it against the AI or against other players. The difference with Pokémon GO is that it utilizes the player’s phone GPS to find and capture Pokémon!
The game has been expanding its roster since its humble release with the original 151 Pokémon all the way to modern times. Pokémon got so popular that the original roster kept expanding till we got to eight whole generations of Pokémon!
Today we will be talking about Sudowoodo and its Shiny Form in Pokémon GO.
Sudowoodo is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in the Gen-2 games of Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal. Sudowoodo and its pre-evolution, Bonsly, are well-known Pokémon, especially known for trickery because they have deceived their fair share of players into thinking they are Grass-type Pokémon.
In Pokémon GO, Sudowoodo is not too hard to acquire. Due to this, players have been wondering if the Shiny form of Sudowoodo is available as well?
Can Sudowoodo be Shiny?
Sudowoodo, being one of the Gen-2 Pokémon first encountered in the Johto region, has been in Pokémon GO since the game’s Johto update. From there, its shiny variant was released in Pokémon GO on the Gift Event of August 2019. To add to this, players can use an incense and attach a lure module to the Pokéstop to increase the spawn rate of Pokémon nearby.
As Sudowoodo can be shiny in Pokémon GO, its pre-evolution, Bonsly, can be too. If players were unable to catch a Shiny Sudowoodo, they have the option of evolving a shiny Bonsly to its shiny evolution by using 50 Bonsly Candies.
