Don’t let packs go to waste!

You only have four slots to fill up with packs. If you’re about to start an event that could potentially reward you with a pack, the game will warn you that the pack will go to waste. Don’t let this happen – if all four of your slots are full, just sit back for a while and let at least one of them open. Packs are the only way to get bike upgrades so they are very important!

Check out your different bike parts!

Usually, you will end up having a bike part that is way better than your other parts because of its level. When you start opening more packs, you will start earning more upgrades for other parts, and soon enough your parts will start to even out. When this happens, it might be helpful to take a closer look at your parts to see what stats you’re getting.

Certain parts are more suited for specific stats, so if you’re gunning for a particular stat, keep an eye on the comparisons when switching between parts. Keep upgrading them to get the biggest benefit!

Pick the right tricks for slopestyle!

During a slopestyle race, you will be judged depending on how many tricks you can successfully perform and how complex the tricks are. You can pick tricks based on their difficulty for any step of the slope, but you need to be smart about placement.

Every track in the slopestyle races are comprised of multiple jumps. In order to perform a trick successfully, you will need to build up enough speed before you hit the jump. The more complex your trick is, the more speed you will need.

When choosing your tricks, you can actually preview the approximate stretch of track. The game will show you the recommend level of difficulty for your trick. While it’s usually best to stick to the recommend idea, you can get a little creative and use harder tricks on shorter distances if you have the bike power to make up for it.

One final note to keep in mind is that the final stat of your bike is the Trick stat. Improving this stat increases how fast your speed gauge fills up, making it easier to pull off the harder tricks.

Use the stars for guidance!

Every time you enter a downhill slope, you’ll see stars start to form at the bottom left corner of the screen. If you enter and exit the segment with optimal speed, you will earn three stars to show you had perfect timing. As a side bonus of this, you can also use this to tell when to let go or when to start peddling.

When entering the downhill section, hold down as soon as you can to start the stars. As you approach the exit, wait until you see the third star appear – that’s your cue to start peddling for optimal speed. It’s a bit tricky at first, but the stars can be a great help in timing assistance.

Equip the essential skills!

As you earn more Mentors from the packs, you’ll be able to learn more skills that provide you passive buffs. You can only equip up to a certain amount of skills, so try to bring ones that suit the current track. Air handling boosters would be great on a track with lots of jumps, for example.
