Starter nature

Best Natures for Starters in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus presents players with the generic three starter Pokémon option. The only difference is that each of the starter Pokémon hail from different regions. The three starter Pokémon are:

Recommended Videos
  • Cyndaquil: From what later became the Johto region
  • Rowlet: From what later became the Alola region
  • Oshawott: From what later became the Unova region

These three starters have their own Hisui variations upon evolution, indicating how different regions shape different Pokémon. Each of these Pokémon are coveted in their own ways and have different playstyles.

Due to their differing typing, base stats and stat gain, players have been wondering what the best nature for each starter Pokémon would be? Well, we have you covered there!

Best Natures for Starter Pokémon

Natures affect Pokémon in various ways. They boost a particular stat and its stat gain throughout the Pokémon’s growth. Depending on how players want to raise their Pokémon, different natures are preferred.

Best Nature for Cyndaquil

These are the best options for Cyndaquil:

  • Hasty: Increased speed, decreased defense
  • Rash: Increased special attack, decreased special defense
  • Mild: Increased special attack, decreased defense

Our recommended option for the Cyndaquil line would be the Mild Nature. Typhlosion boasts a high special attack stat and boosting it to higher levels at the cost of some of its defensive potential would be the best option. Alternatively, players could choose for going for the Hasty option if they prefer a faster Typhlosion!

Best Nature for Rowlet

These are the best options for Rowlet:

  • Jolly: Increased speed, decreased special attack
  • Brave: Increased attack, decreased speed
  • Adamant: Increased attack, decreased special attack

Our recommended option for the Rowlet line would be the Adamant Nature. Decidueye’s best stat is its attack stat and its moveset primarily consists of moves whose power is based around its attack stat. A different option would be building Decidueye to be a bit faster with the Jolly talent since Speed is its worst stat.

Best Nature for Oshawott

These are the best options for Oshawott:

  • Rash: Increased Special attack, decreased special defense
  • Naughty: Increased attack, decreased special defense
  • Adamant: Increased attack, decreased special attack

Our recommended option for the Oshawott line would be the Naughty Nature. Although Rash isn’t too far behind since Samurott has relatively balanced attack and special attack stats. Since its special defense is already pretty low, players can opt to instead focus on Adamant to preserve its special defense stat and focus on making it a powerful attacker instead!
