Best Natures for Special Attack Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced a lot of new mechanics to the game previously unseen in other Pokémon games. While a lot of those mechanics were game-changing, others remained the same and retained that classic Pokémon feel that players have grown to love from the franchise.

One of those features is the Nature system.

Purpose of Natures

Natures can alter the way a Pokémon is utilized in battle. While five specific natures do not change any Pokémon’s stat growth, most natures can alter a Pokémon’s stat growth by a value of 10%. While natures can provide a stat gain of 10% to an intended stat, they also reduce stat gain by 10% of another random stat.

Due to these variances in stat growth, certain natures are preferred over others. What if you wanted to fully optimize a Pokémon’s special attack stat growth, which nature would be best? Read on to find out!

Best Natures for Special Attack-based Pokémon

There are four different natures that boost a Pokémon’s special attack:

  • Modest: Increased special attack, decreased attack
  • Mild: Increased special attack, decreased defense
  • Quiet: Increased special attack, decreased speed
  • Rash: Increased special attack, decreased special defense

Each of these natures come with their own pros and cons and can be situationally useful. Every one of these natures alters their related stat growth by 10% and can provide a substantial boost to the stats they do increase!

If a Pokémon has mediocre attack damage, we recommend going for Modest. Focusing entirely on a special attack moveset does wonders for damage.

If a Pokémon has high defense, we recommend going for Mild. Reducing their defense will not hurt them as much as the higher offense will benefit them.

If a Pokémon has low speed, we recommend going for Quiet. Being slow already, reducing the speed by 10% more will not make a massive difference.

If a Pokémon has high special defense, we recommend going for Rash. Just like defense, a high special defense stat will prevent it from falling much further.
