I tried to mix and match here and add a bit of everything, from complex & complete managing experiences to casual, light and less time consuming approaches to the genre. No matter which choice you make, you will surely have a lot of fun playing Touch, Tap, Play’s recommended football management games for iPhone and iPad!

1. Football Manager 2016

In my opinion, this is the one and only football management game you’ll ever need. It is complex, it is absolutely amazing and it is considered by many – myself included, the best football management game ever released. And now you can play it on your iOS-powered device and enjoy it on the go. It has tens of thousands of thoroughly researched players to sign for your team, it has licensed clubs and competitions, real player names and a complexity level that’s absolutely insane. You can get the Football Manager Touch (which offers the whole experience, iPad only), or the Football Manager Mobile version which is a lighter version that’s faster to play and less complex. No matter which one you choose, I am sure you will be completely satisfied and need no other management game to play!

2. Champ Man 16

02 champ man

The world famous Football Management game gets better every year, with tens of thousands of real players available to sign and over 450 clubs from 25 playable leagues to manage. It’s worth noting that initially, Football Manager was named “Championship Manager” which later became Champ Man, today’s game). This is a lighter and not as good version of Football Manager, one that you can play for free though (with in-app purchases becoming a must eventually, in my opinion). Still, if you want to give it a try, you have nothing to lose and you will most likely love it until you hit the paywall. Click here to check it out. Biggest downside? You are only allowed to play a limited number of seasons!

3. Top Eleven

This game has over 100 million players enjoying the game and you could be one of them. It is a freemium game and, even though it doesn’t feature real players, it’s still really fun: you get to manage all the aspects of your club, find the best tactics, best players and train them and so on. There’s a ton of stuff you will be able to do in this game and you’ll see that you’re not really forced to spend a lot, although you will surely start to pay sooner or later, if you really get into it. Want to check it out? Click here to get the game from the App Store!

4. Football Director

04 title challenge

You have FULL control and the club’s fate is in your hands. Hire, fire and pick your best top eleven, keep the substitute and bench players motivated Train your squad at individual and team levels, devise and fine-tune your ideal squad tactics and match formations, rest tired or under-performing players and ensure that the board and fans are happy with your work. You’re the boss in Football Director and I anticipate some really fun times ahead. Download the game here.

5. Football Chairman

For all the fans of the underdog team, this is the ultimate football management game! Create your own team in the lowest division and work hard to bring them to glory and fill the trophy room. You are not really the manager, you are the chairman and take care of everything that’s needed to keep the club running and performing at its best, and it will be very fun! Click here to check out the game – you will not be dissapointed!

6. Title Challenge

A game created by fans of the original Championship Manager game (think about the year 2001, if you were playing the game back then), this is an interesting take on the genre and certainly brings back some nice memories to fans of the original CM. Manage your favourite club from England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Netherlands, play for as long as you want (no season limit), create custom databases and more. Even better is the fact that an internet connection is not required to play this game, so give it a try! Click here to download it.
