Best Categories in Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle

Even if you are familiar with Dragon Ball Z universe, being a new player in Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle can be somewhat overwhelming. There’s a really large number of characters in the game, many different categories, link set categories etc. Once you complete the tutorial you’ll find yourself being bombarded by pop ups about new events, new summons and so on.

Kamehameha

Pretty large unit pool in this category. All the stacking units that you might need. Very strong offensive units and also many different type of units to help you get through in any kind of event. You can argue that that there are not super powerful support units compared to other categories here but still a top tier category overall.

Majin Buu Saga

For a long time this category had a lot of very good units but not a very good Leader. But now with Fused Hope Goku & Vegeta (Angel) they have one of the best units in the game. A unit that is top tier in all aspects of the game. Top Tier LR’s, EZA units, you name it.

Goku Family

Now this is powerful roster. It offers one of the biggest units pool. Top tier Leader Units. Stacking units. Plus they will always release units for this category and this will never stop because well… it’s Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and it’s Goku Family after all.

Universal Survival Saga

There are many units in this category that can help you get things done in game. The thing is that they basically have a universal Ki Link which is obviously a lot. A very good category for new or returning players, it has gotten many updates recently.

Realm of Gods

This is a category that offers everything you might need. Even though it’s a rather limited category in terms of numbers. Beerus is very strong as a leader even if he doesn’t have the best synergy possible with the Saiyans in this category. And let’s face it, you want to run as many of these super powerful Saiyans that you can. Rumor has it that the new UI Goku EZA will make this category broken.

Pure Saiyans

The largest category in the game with over 200 units. Almost every update will have a release of this category. You have so many options in this category that you can create any team you want. Goku, Vegeta, Brolly etc, all of them are here. Maybe the only downside at the moment is that there’s not a super powerful leader here. But since it’s Pure Saiyans at some point they will.

Transformation Boost

The thing with this category is that all the transformation units are automatically being placed here. That means that it’s a category which will keep getting updates. That’s something to keep in mind going forward. If you start investing your resources in a category you want to know that it won’t fall off any time soon right? A number of units that can function as solid support.

Movie Bosses

Consists of the main antagonists from the movies. Somewhat a limited category in terms of numbers, maybe a bit top heavy but at the same time a very strong one. Some might argue that this category needs a new Leader release as it has been two years since the release of Broly (The other leader option being Turles).

Space Traveling Warriors Category

Consists of warriors who have regularly traveled through outer space. Some of the best Extreme STR in Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle are in this category. Also Turles and Jiren full power rotation, two of the strongest units in the game offensively. This is a category that will most likely get even more support with future releases.
