Take your time between barrels!
Banana Kong Blast is a precision platformer about careful timing and smooth blasts. Rushing through the levels is a quick way to send Banana Kong to an untimely end, so be careful and take your time! There is a tornado that slowly creeps up behind to ensure that you do not take TOO much time, but it moves relatively slow so it is not a problem unless you are waiting an excessive amount of time.
Collect the banana medals!
Every level in Banana Kong Blast has three banana medals tucked away somewhere within the level. Although they are not required to pass the level, grabbing them is worth a lot of experience points, and three medals is usually enough to give you a full level. Do not worry if you run out of lives before you finish the level, because as soon as you grab a banana medal it is counted and saved.
If you miss a banana medal, which will happen often as a lot of them a pretty well hidden, do not worry! You can go back to previous levels to grab the ones you have missed if you so desire.
Deal with the different barrels and obstacles!
Knowing the different types of barrels is the key to success, and it is important to not get them confused! Barrels with the red arrows are controlled manually by you tapping, whereas barrels with the blue arrows will fire automatically. Barrels with green arrows must be turned manually by tapping and holding, then letting go when you reach your desired angle.
While barrels take up 80% of the levels, you may also face different obstacles and mechanics. For example, the vines you will encounter early on are a bit tricky. Once Banana Kong grabs hold, the vines will swing back and forth. Tap to jump when the vines are at the right angle!
Grab the bananas!
Bananas are, unsurprisingly, the currency of Banana Kong Blast. Grabbing a bunch of bananas will help Banana Kong afford all of the expensive hats and furnishings he can get for his tree top hut. It should be noted that hats and house furnishings do not have any effect on Banana Kong’s movements, or gameplay in general. They are simply cosmetic rewards that can brighten up the environment a bit. So, if you ever find yourself in a dire situation with a few lives left, it might be better to simply go for the end goal instead of trying to get hard-to-reach bananas.
Search for secrets!
Is that last banana medal completely eluding you? No idea where to look? As mentioned before, Banana Kong Blast has a habit of tucking away banana medals behind other objects. If you want to find them all, you will need to explore all over the place. Try to look for clues, as it is fairly easy to see something a little suspicious. If there is a random barrel placed somewhere, you can bet that it leads to a secret – you just need to find a way into the barrel. When you get to moving barrels, be sure to look around, as you will find lots of hidden paths there.
