Equip items for power boosts!
Every time you defeat an enemy hero on the board, there is a chance they will drop an item. Items are temporary power ups that can be equipped to heroes that will boost their stats, and the items will stay with them until the end of the match. These items can really increase a hero’s performance, so it is important to equip them right away.
There a lot of heroes in Arena of Evolution, so you are probably wondering what items are best on what heroes. As a quick tip, when you have an item selected you might see a green thumbs up on your deployed heroes. This means it is a suggested item for that hero!
Position your heroes!
Remember that this game is an “auto chess” game, meaning that your heroes will move along the board on their own and attack the nearest enemies. Some heroes also have their own unique movements patterns, so you need to take that into account as well. Positioning is half the battle, so a misplaced hero can cause you to lose the battle!
As a general rule, you want your supports and ranged attackers to be in the backlines, while you have your tough tank heroes in the frontlines, so they can grab the attention of enemy heroes and protect your weaker backline.
Know your classes!
There are nine classes in Arena of Evolution, and knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each is the key to victory. You cannot deploy your heroes strategically if you do not know how to play up their strengths, so get familiar with them!
Tank heroes are your basic frontline warriors. They typically have high HP and armor, allowing them to take a lot of punishment before they go down. Guardians and Vanguards are your go-to tanks, so make sure you have a good amount of these guys on the field.
Damage dealers are the core of your team, as they will be the ones who will take down the enemies. Blasters, Longshots, and Siegebreakers are your damage dealers, as they all have either good sustained DPS, or high damaging skills. Assassins are also damage dealers, but they focus on attacking the enemy’s backline.
The unique classes focus on specialized abilities. Supporters have skills that can buff and heal allied heroes. Summoners can summon minions onto the field to create more obstacles for the enemies to deal with, and Specialists focus on crowd control and general status ailments.
Fuse multiple heroes!
Remember that if you deploy three of the same hero onto the field at the same time, they will fuse and upgrade into a two-star version of that same hero. Their ability remains the same but they will receive a substantial stat boost, making them far more deadlier to the enemy team. Do this whenever you can!
Spend the gold to level up!
You can trade five gold for five experience points at any time during the match. As you know, the higher your level the more heroes you can deploy onto the field. If you are already at your hero cap, you should be pouring left over gold into experience so that you can build your army even further. Remember that having more heroes than your enemy can make all the difference!
