Two weeks ago it was confirmed that the highly anticipated Angry Birds 2, the new entry of the successful series developed by Rovio, was going to be released before the end of the month on the App Store. The game has finally been made available yesterday in all regions and it seems like Angry Birds 2 is going to be one of the more successful releases of the year.
In just 12 hours of availability, Angry Birds 2 has been downloaded over 1 million times. Even though it was somewhat expected, this result is definitely impressive. Now the real question is if all these players will continue playing the game in the next few months. The game comes with energy timers which seems to be really strict so many aren’t exactly liking some of the new mechanics included in the game.
Basically, Angry Birds 2 plays not all that differently from previous entries of the series. Players will have to use the sling to catapult birds into building in the attempt to defeat all the piggies in each stage. The game does come with some new features not found in previous entries such as boss fights, randomly generated levels, onine arena mode and multi-screen stages.
Angry Birds 2 is now available for download for free on the App Store.
