All Rewards for Releasing Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.

The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles as was the staple of the series thus far.

One feature that was drastically changed was the option to release Pokémon. Captured Pokémon are kept in a pasture and releasing them even gives players rewards!

Releasing captured Pokémon

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it is not only possible to release Pokémon, but you can mass release them instead of doing it one at a time! For returning players of the series, this might be a little surprising and not hold much value, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus incentivizes this by providing a lot of rewards to players for doing so.

Releasing Pokémon can be done at the Pastures or at base camps. Once the pasture is full (about 100 Pokémon), they can all be mass released at once and rewards will be provided for each Pokémon released.

So what do players get for performing this deed?

Rewards for releasing Pokémon

The rewards provided for releasing Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus differ by the levels of the Pokémon released. There are no rewards for releasing Pokémon under level 10, but every 10 levels after level 10 will provide a variety of rewards.

  • Pokémon Levels 10-20: Grit Dust
  • Pokémon Levels 20-30: Grit Gravel
  • Pokémon Levels 30-40: Grit Pebble
  • Pokémon Levels 40+  : Grit Rock

These Grit Items can be used to raise a Pokémon’s effort levels, which affect their stats in battle in various ways. Apart from the rewards, the newly gained space will allow the player to catch more, stronger Pokémon, so keep collecting!
