Age of Z features a brutal world so you must be prepared for anything as you build up your base. Our Age of Z cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide to survive the apocalypse will ensure your journey is as smooth as possible!

Complete the main quests!

In order to ensure that your base stays strong enough to repel the hungry zombie hoards, it is in your best interest to follow the main quests. Your current main quest can be seen at all times at the bottom of the screen, so simply tap on it if you are ever lost and unsure of what to work towards next. These quests will lead you down the general progression route, which means that your base will stay up-to-date with all the latest fixings so as long as you follow the quests.

Keep training new units!

Your building queue and your troop training queue are two separate queues, so feel free to always be training new units. To prepare for the coming onslaught, it is best to have a lot of different units and not just one type. There are multiple types of undead, and they each have their own weaknesses, so you will need different units to handle different situations.

Complete the Target quests!

In addition to the main quests, there is also another set of quests called “Target” quests. You can access these by tapping on the walkie-talkie button at the bottom left corner of the main base screen. These Target quests are separated into chapters, and they will help you progress through the main story. You should do these alongside the main quests for maximum resource rewards and goodies!

Finish the Tower Defense levels!

The Tower Defense campaign is a whole separate campaign where you play through tower defense levels, defending a certain key point from an incoming horde of zombies. It plays like an actual tower defense game, and you can earn three stars on each level depending on how many lives you end up with at the end.

Here’s an easy tip for the tower defense mode: make sure you have at least on each tower type. There are towers specifically designed to take down certain enemies, and without them they will almost always pass you by. For example, the laser turret is required to take down the armored enemies (ones with the yellow health bar), as the laser does more damage the longer it is concentrated on an enemy.

Keep researching!

Just like the units and building construction, a third queue exists for your research. Research provides passive buffs to separate parts of your city, and they are very helpful. We recommend starting with the Development tree, as this is the tree that focuses on building up your base. You will be doing a LOT of building early on in the game, so it is only natural. Once you finish that, you can start building up the military side of research.

Do not forget about commander skills!

Remember that your commander has their own set of skills. You gain skill points every time you level up, so be sure to allocate them. You have two trees: War and Development. As their names imply, one deals with battling and the other deals with base development. These skills stack with your research, so you can really get the buffs going!

That’s all for Age of Z! If you have any other tips or tricks to share, let us know in the comments below!
