Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy Exploration Guide

The previous Atelier games never placed too much importance on exploration. Sure, you had to travel to a variety of different locations in search of Alchemy ingredients, but you had no real reason to fully explore everything, unless you wanted to truly experience everything there was in any given game.

Things are quite different in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy. The new entry in the series places a greater emphasis on ruin exploration and achieving 100% in the Exploration Diary for each and every ruin will reward you with skill points and unlocked nodes in the Skill Tree, making exploration extremely rewarding.

Reaching 100% exploration for any ruin isn’t particularly complicated, but it will require some effort on your part. So, here’s everything you need to do to become the best explorer there is in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy.

50% Completion

The first step toward 100% completion is reaching 50% completion. From the second ruin onwards, all you need to do to achieve 50% completion rate is clear the conditions listed in the Exploration Diary for any given ruin. These conditions are usually quite straightforward, ranging from defeating a set amount of enemies, opening treasure chests, and gathering ingredients. Most of the time, you will clear these conditions by just exploring normally.

100% Completion

Once 50% completion has been achieved, your compass will start glowing. Open the map to locate fragments in your vicinity and collect them all. There are different types of fragments: some are just picked up as items, others turn into enemies, others show conversations while others indicate a point of interest. Once you have picked up all fragments open the Exploration Diary, select the discovered locations and then pick the memory that best relates to the location. The game highlights the keywords in green, so you should have no trouble connecting locations with memories. Once this is done, you will have achieved 100% completion rate.
