On a post on the game’s official website, Epic Games confirmed among the matchmaking changes coming to Fortnite the next season the introduction of bots, who will behave similarly to normal players. They will be introduced so that players can improve their skills without feeling overwhelmed by other experienced players.

In the next Season, we are adding Bots to Fortnite. They will behave similarly to normal players and will help provide a better path for players to grow in skill. Bots will work in conjunction with the new matchmaking system, and as your skill improves, you’ll face fewer Bots. Bots will not be present in Competitive playlists. This is another system that we will continue to update and iterate.

Epic’s decision to introduce bots in Fortnite makes a lot of sense. The game is quite accessible due to being a free to play title on all platforms, and making newcomers stay will make the game even more profitable, as those engaged in Fortnite don’t have issues spending real money to unlock additional content like skins and so on.

The other big matchmaking change coming to Fortnite is that players will be getting matched with players of similar skill level, so this, in addition to bots, will be quite helpful in improving skills for players that are getting decimated by experts.

Fortnite is now available for Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android as well as on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
