Pokémon Go Gets Early 2022 Roadmap

Niantic has shared their intentions for the future of Pokemon GO, revealing their content roadmap for early 2022, with what players can expect in terms of updates, bug fixes, community days, and events.

The very first update arriving to the game is the Pokemon GO Tour: Johto, with players being able to experience it as it drops on February 26 and 27, 2022. While the event is active, players around the world will be able to participate wherever they are, but players who reside in either Monterrey, Mexico, or Kaohsiung, Taiwan, are the ones who will actually be able to participate in live events.

Some of the major highlights of the Johto tour include new Go Gym Trainers whose inspiration has been taken from the highest members of Pokemon Go Community, as well as all new Masterwork Research which highlights Apex Shadow Pokemon.

Niantic then went on to mention that they will be constantly working on Go Battle League improvements, continuing to fine tune and update the experience of the battles to the best of their ability. Currently, the team is working on big fixes and updates for the Go Battle League, which will soon be highlighted in a future dev diary.

Apart from this, Niantic has mentioned that they will be upgrading the Postcard Book feature by adding in new functions like sticker saving, notifications, an expanded gift maximum, new sorting methods, and more.

Niantic concluded by saying that they want to explore the sense of community with their players around the world, delving further in experiments such as their very first Community Day, to keep things hip and fresh.
