As mentioned above, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is a massive game, so expect to spend quite some time with it if you’re thinking about unlocking everything there is to. Even a regular playthrough can take quite a bit of time, considering how much there is to do in the game.

A regular playthrough of one of the Conquest Mode scenarios, depending on your understanding of the Empires mechanics and of strategy games in general, requires between 12 and 15 hours to complete. It may take even less if you are particularly good at managing your empire, but it can take even more if you have to deal with some unforeseen issues and with some kingdoms that have no intention of giving up their territories for you to unify China. With the base game featuring 8 scenarios, it will take close to 60 hours to complete all of them.

If you’re looking to unlock everything there is to find in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, you will be looking at well over 60 hours of play time. As some of the game’s items and collectibles are obtained by forging meaningful bonds with other characters, you will spend quite some time interacting with them away from the battlefield, something that may force you to play through any scenario that you may have already completed for a second time. The more you play, the better your understanding of the strategy mechanics will be, however, so subsequent playthroughs of a completed scenario will take significantly less than 15 hours, speeding up your game mastering endeavors.
