New CCG Valhalla Lost Looks Like Hearthstone from the North

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

“Winter is coming!” That’s what Valhalla Lost, an upcoming collectible card game for the iPhone and iPad seems to be shouting at Hearthstone, who ignores it, playing a delightful tune by the fire. Well, that’s its loss because Valhalla Lost has the power to take on the winter and all the enemies that it brings with itself and help you have some great fun in the process.

Now honestly speaking, while watching the pre-beta gameplay video of Valhalla Lost – that you can too watch below – I did feel that it was a lot like Hearthstone gameplay wise. And you know what? That’s extremely good news because I consider Hearthtsone’s gameplay mechanics the best in the CCG world. So check out the trailer below to see for yourself:

The game will debut with over 200 cards to collect, it will come with a story-driven campaign and multi battle dungeons, as well as options to play against friends using the game’s proximity battle mode. No word on actual PvP combat which would make things even better, but I doubt this game will lack such a mode.

Inspired by Norse mythology – if it wasn’t obvious already, Valhalla Lost is expecting to go live in late October. And we’ll see then if it will be able to freeze Hearthstone and take its place on our favorites list. And even if it doesn’t – it’s still going to be a must play game!
