Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.
The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles, as was the staple of the series thus far.
Another staple feature of the game, as is with most RPGs, are items. Apart from Pokémon, items are the other interactable, and generally consumable, feature that a player can access on the go.
Purpose of Items
Items in the game provide a variety of uses. All of them go into separate sections of the bag. Each section is reserved for different purposes.
The Pokéball section houses all of the different types of Pokéballs, while the Medicines section holds all of the Potions and other recovery-based items. One of the most important sections in the bag is the Key Items section. This section carries non-consumable, exclusive items to the game, having different uses.
Some of the key items can be used, such as the Bicycle and the Fishing Rod, while others are just static items that are needed to progress through the game’s story. Some can even be one-time items that will never be needed again. For the items that can be used, there is an option to favorite that item.
Favorite Items
Favorite items is a feature that was introduced to the Pokémon franchise many generations ago. This feature allows the player to add an item to the favorites list, which allows for quick and easy access to that item without needing to open the bag.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, all the player has to do is to add the required item to the favorites list, and that will allow them to access it without searching through the bag for that item, saving a lot of time in each instance the item needs to be used!
