How to Complete The Root of the Problem in Shin Megami Tensei V

Shin Megami Tensei V features a huge amount of sidequests to complete which reward players with some very nice items and extra EXP. Better yet, most of these quests do not take too long to complete, so it’s always a good idea to do clear a few of them, even though it is not required to complete the game.

Among the sidequests that can be completed fairly quickly is The Root of the Problem sidequests. Here’s what you have to do to clear it.

How to Complete The Root of the Problem in Shin Megami Tensei V

The Root of the Problem sidequest can be initiated only after completing the A Golden Opportunity quest. Once this is done, talk with the Silky demon in the Fairy Village. You can find the demon in the location highlighted on the map below.

Silky will ask you to bring her a total of 10 Mandrake Roots, which can be obtained by defeating the Mandrake demons that can be found to the north of the village. These demons are weak to Fire, so use skills of this type to win battles quickly. Mandrakes spawn in the location shown on the map below.

Once you have collected the required items, head back to the Silky demon and interact with her to complete the quest. You will get the Fairy Talisman as well as 6,000 EXP points as reward.
